A deadly bomb explosion in Dalwa, Borno State, has left two people dead. The blast, caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), took place in a housing estate that is still under construction. The explosion occurred around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, at the same time Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni were in Maiduguri, the state capital, to open new housing projects.
Reports also reveal that a similar explosion happened the day before, on Tuesday, though details about that incident remain unclear. Dalwa, located about 175 kilometers from Maiduguri, is one of many areas that have suffered devastation and displacement due to the ongoing Boko Haram insurgency.
