Yahaya Bello Visits EFCC Office Again Over Fund Misuse Allegations

The immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has appeared at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) office for the second time. On Tuesday, November 26, he arrived at the anti-graft agency’s office in a black Toyota Hilux, accompanied by his legal team.

Bello’s visit was in response to an EFCC invitation concerning allegations of misappropriating public funds during his tenure. His appearance comes shortly after the Supreme Court dismissed a case filed by some states challenging the EFCC’s authority to investigate governors for financial crimes.

At an earlier hearing on November 14, the EFCC had requested a postponement, citing that the 30-day period for the summons against Bello was still valid. The next hearing in the case is set for November 27.

Bello’s decision to appear at the EFCC office reflects his willingness to comply with the ongoing investigation. The case continues to generate public interest as Nigerians follow the proceedings closely.
