Governor Mbah Hails Enugu Rangers On 9th League Title

Governor Peter Mbah has congratulated Rangers International F.C. of Enugu on clinching their ninth Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title and the club’s second league triumph under his administration.

Rangers sealed the 2025/2026 NPFL crown on Sunday with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Ikorodu City FC at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos, finishing the season on 68 points, one ahead of Rivers United, which defeated Katsina United 3–0 in Port Harcourt.

In a statement reacting to the achievement, Governor Mbah praised the players, coaching crew, and management of the club for making Enugu State proud and restoring the club’s historic legacy.

“On behalf of the Government and good people of Enugu State, I convey our profound congratulations to you on your well-deserved and hard-fought ninth league title, the second under our administration,” the governor stated.

“You have not only brought back the title, which you won in the 2023/2024 season, but also restored the glory of Enugu as the incubator and hub of champions.

“You have reenacted the heroics of Rangers of old and walked the path of our revered legends,” he added.

Mbah described the triumph as a strong validation of his administration’s investments in sports development and the rejuvenation of Rangers International. He further noted that the victory provides added momentum ahead of the 27th National Sports Festival, which Enugu State is scheduled to host in November this year.
