The Edo State Security Corps has successfully rescued a 37-year-old truck driver and his 25-year-old motor boy from kidnappers in Edo State.

Richard Balogun told reporters in Benin City that the victims are Sani Muhammed and Nazifi Rabiu.

The duo was kidnapped around 11pm on March 30, 2026, along the Benin–Okene road near an army checkpoint in Auchi, located in Etsako West Local Government Area.

They were rescued on April 5, 2026, at about 6pm in the Alimogiza Forest in the Anwain area of Etsako West by ESSC operatives.

The victims revealed that the kidnappers had already contacted their families, demanding a ransom of N60 million before the rescue operation.

Balogun added that the suspected kidnappers, reportedly around 10 in number, had killed one victim. He also noted that seven other victims are still being held by the abductors.
