Former Nigeria captain and coach Sunday Oliseh has lauded the attacking skills of Super Eagles forwards Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Akor Adams.
Since the start of the 2025–2026 season, Osimhen, Lookman, and Adams have scored a total of 51 goals for their clubs and Nigeria—28 for Galatasaray’s Osimhen, 12 for Sevilla’s Adams, and 11 for Atletico Madrid’s Lookman.
Despite their impressive talent, recent results reveal that Nigeria’s team still faces challenges on the international stage.
The Super Eagles’ strong showing at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations hides the disappointment of missing qualification for consecutive World Cups, even with world-class forwards.
While praising the trio, Oliseh highlighted that Nigeria still faces big challenges as they prepare for the 2030 World Cup qualifiers.
Speaking on Global Football Insights With Oliseh, Oliseh said, “Victor Osimhen, Akor Adams, and Ademola Lookman are world-class. Watching them play is a joy. They break down European defenses and are our main force now, but even the best fuel fails if the engine has problems.”
He warned that some current players might not be part of the next World Cup and urged the Nigeria Football Federation to start preparing for future competitions.
