A presidential aide, Daniel Bwala, has stated that Peter Obi will not become Nigeria’s president. He made the remark during a television interview while discussing the country’s political future ahead of 2027.
Bwala, who serves under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, argued that Obi lacks key leadership qualities required to lead the nation. According to him, being president demands vision, sincerity, and strong grassroots support.
He explained that true leadership must be built on genuine connections with the people, not perceived or temporary support. He insisted that Obi does not meet these expectations.
The presidential aide also questioned the depth of Obi’s popularity. He claimed that much of Obi’s support came from narratives targeted at religious groups rather than widespread grassroots engagement.
Bwala further alleged that Obi used messaging during the administration of Muhammadu Buhari to gain sympathy, especially within the Christian community.
His comments have sparked fresh political debate, as discussions intensify over potential contenders and strategies ahead of the next general elections in Nigeria.
