Nigerian internet personality Blessing Okoro, also known as Blessing CEO, has clarified that her earlier claim about having stage 4 cancer may have been a “miscommunication.” She made this statement during a recent interview with content creator Egungun, where she spoke about her health and the ongoing controversy surrounding her fundraising efforts.
During the interview, Blessing explained that she is not certain about the exact stage of her condition. According to her, she simply shared what she believed was the information given to her at the time. She added that she recently received biopsy results confirming that a lump initially thought to be harmless is actually cancerous.
Her previous statements had sparked reactions online, especially after she said she had not started chemotherapy despite earlier showing signs like hair loss. Many people questioned the consistency of her claims, leading to widespread criticism and doubt about her situation.
Blessing also addressed reports about the money she raised for treatment. She denied claims that she received over one hundred million naira, stating instead that the total donations amounted to about thirteen million naira. When asked if she owed the public an apology, she said she did not believe she had hurt anyone.
She concluded by saying she is still undergoing medical evaluations and will soon get a clearer diagnosis from her doctor. She also declined to share her medical records publicly, describing them as private, while maintaining that she has only been sharing updates based on what she has been told.
