Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, has raised concerns about the state of Nigeria’s institutions.
Speaking during an interview on Trust TV, Dalung compared the country’s institutions to captives under the control of bandits, stressing that they lack independence.
He explained that many government bodies are operating under pressure, which affects their ability to function properly.
According to him, the judiciary is the most affected, noting that it works in a difficult and challenging environment.
Dalung added that public criticism of the judiciary may not fully reflect the deeper issues affecting its operations.
He called attention to the need for reforms, urging leaders to strengthen institutions and ensure they can operate freely and effectively.
