Nigerian singer Davido has revealed that he is no longer chasing Grammy awards or Western recognition.

Speaking on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart Show with Eddie Kadi, he explained that he has achieved major career milestones, including multiple Grammy nominations.

Davido said the next phase of his music will focus on “very African” sounds, moving away from Western-influenced music to stay true to his roots.

He emphasized his contentment with past achievements, including sold-out shows worldwide and performing at major award events.

The singer also praised his South African fanbase, claiming that 80 percent of South Africans know and enjoy his music.

Davido has collaborated with many South African artists and earned several certifications from the country’s music industry, strengthening his continental influence.
