The Trump International Hotel and Tower Chicago reportedly failed a food safety inspection in late 2025 after officials identified several violations in its kitchen and food preparation areas. The inspection was conducted by the Chicago Department of Public Health.
According to official records, the inspection covered the hotel’s main kitchen, room service operations and the restaurant Terrace 16. Health inspectors discovered sanitation concerns including small insects in some areas and a dishwashing machine that was not properly sanitizing equipment.
Inspectors also reported issues with food storage and hygiene practices. Some perishable food items were kept at temperatures above recommended safety limits, while certain raw shellfish lacked required date labels for proper food safety monitoring.
The property later underwent a follow-up inspection and passed after addressing the listed violations. The hotel is part of the business empire linked to Donald Trump, although representatives had not publicly commented when the report first surfaced.
