Nnewi-based native doctor, Ikechukwu John Paul, popularly called Aka Mmuo, has begged Charles Soludo for leniency after his arrest for allegedly performing rituals. Authorities accused him of carrying out ceremonies, including ritual baths for internet fraudsters, also known as Yahoo Boys.
Following his parade by local security operatives, Aka Mmuo expressed remorse, stating he was unaware of the legal implications of his actions. He vowed not to return to the river to conduct such sacrifices again.
The native doctor pleaded with the governor and Anambra State citizens for forgiveness, emphasizing his promise to abandon all ritual activities. He said, “I want to plead with our able governor and all citizens… I will never go to the River to make sacrifices again.”
His appeal highlights ongoing concerns in Anambra about ritual practices linked to fraud and the efforts of state authorities to curb such activities. Local security agencies continue to monitor and enforce laws to prevent similar occurrences.
