Iran says 1,255 people killed in US-Israeli attacks, mostly civilians

Ali Jafarian says more than 1,255 people have died in the ongoing air strikes carried out by the United States and Israel across Iran. According to him, most of the victims were civilians affected by the attacks.

Jafarian explained that the casualties include around 200 children and several healthcare workers. He also revealed that more than 12,000 people have been injured, many suffering burns and other serious injuries caused by the bombardment.

The official added that the strikes have damaged key parts of the healthcare system. Several hospitals and emergency centres have reportedly been hit, forcing some medical facilities to shut down completely.

He also warned about environmental and health risks after air raids struck fuel storage sites in Tehran. Thick smoke from the fires has spread across parts of the city, raising concerns about respiratory problems and long-term environmental damage.
