Activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has called for a mass revolution in Nigeria, saying only a people-driven movement can bring real change. He made the remarks while speaking to journalists at the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Sowore argued that those in power would not willingly give it up, claiming that systemic inequality continues to widen the gap between leaders and ordinary citizens. He insisted that meaningful reform requires collective action from Nigerians.
According to him, a revolution would pave the way for fair redistribution of resources, improved public education, better healthcare services, and stronger infrastructure across the country. He maintained that these changes are necessary for Nigeria to compete globally.
The activist emphasized that his call is rooted in the belief that citizens must demand accountability and transparent governance. His comments have sparked debate about political reform and the direction of Nigeria’s democracy.
