Guinness World Records has officially recognised Lagos-based makeup artist Theresa Emegwara, popularly known as Tesglam, for completing a historic 146-hour makeup marathon. The confirmation places her achievement among globally recognised records and highlights Nigeria’s growing influence in the beauty and creative industry.
Tesglam carried out the marathon in August 2025 during the Glam 4–144 event at Landmark Boulevard, Lagos. Over six consecutive days, she worked for 146 hours, 23 minutes and 56 seconds, applying makeup to more than 200 faces. Her effort surpassed the previous 103-hour record held by a Ghanaian makeup artist, setting a new global benchmark.
The event attracted strong public interest, with creatives, models and supporters visiting the venue, while many others followed the marathon online. Landmark Boulevard provided logistical support throughout the attempt, helping to create a stable environment for the demanding challenge. The Lagos State Commissioner for Youth also visited during the event and later praised the achievement after its official confirmation.
After the verification process, Tesglam received her Guinness World Records plaque and medal, marking the successful completion of months of preparation and endurance. She dedicated the record to her team, volunteers, models and supporters, describing the achievement as a shared victory. Her success further adds to Nigeria’s growing list of Guinness World Records in the beauty sector, reinforcing the country’s presence on the global creative stage.
