Transfer: Super Eagles defender reaches agreement to leave Orlando Pirates

South African giants Orlando Pirates have confirmed the exit of Super Eagles defender Olisa Ndah after both parties agreed to end his contract. The centre-back leaves the club as a free agent, bringing his stay with the Buccaneers to an end after three years. The decision follows limited playing opportunities for the defender this season.

Ndah, who is 28 years old, reportedly asked for an early release from his contract in order to seek regular football elsewhere. Orlando Pirates agreed to the request, allowing the Nigerian international to explore new opportunities without a transfer fee attached to his move.

The defender joined the Soweto-based club in 2021 from Nigeria Professional Football League side Akwa United. During his time at Pirates, Ndah established himself as a solid defensive option and featured in several key matches for the club across different competitions.

In total, Ndah made 81 appearances for Orlando Pirates and scored one goal before his departure. With his experience in South African football and international exposure with the Super Eagles, the defender is expected to attract interest from clubs both within and outside the continent.
