Algeria’s coach, Slavoljub Petković, has outlined strategies he believes could help the Desert Foxes defeat Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final. Petković emphasized that Algeria must stay disciplined, press aggressively, and take advantage of any defensive gaps left by the Nigerian team.
He explained that Nigeria is a strong side physically and tactically, but Algeria can create opportunities by exploiting space on the wings and maintaining quick counter-attacks. According to the coach, patience and smart positioning will be key to turning the game in their favor.
Petković also highlighted the importance of controlling the midfield, preventing Nigeria from dominating possession, and ensuring that his team capitalizes on set-piece situations. He believes that keeping concentration high throughout the 90 minutes will increase Algeria’s chances of success.
Finally, the coach called on fans to support the team while warning that every small mistake could be costly against a talented opponent like Nigeria. He said Algeria is focused, prepared, and ready to put up a strong fight in Marrakech.
