The Presidency has denied reports suggesting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu replaced his Chief of Staff, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila. In a statement, the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the claims circulating on social media as false and misleading.
According to the statement, both the Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, remain in their respective positions. The claim that Muri-Okunola has taken over as Chief of Staff is entirely untrue.
The Presidency explained that the viral report is a fabrication intended to spread confusion and disharmony within the government. It urged Nigerians to ignore such misinformation.
Officials also called on news media and social media users to verify information before publishing or sharing. The statement emphasized the importance of responsible reporting to prevent the spread of fake news.
