Son of Mango fashion tycoon being probed as suspect in Isak Andic’s sudden cliff fall de@th

The son of late billionaire Isak Andic, founder of global fashion brand Mango, is now under investigation as a suspect in his father’s mysterious death. Isak, aged 71, reportedly fell more than 320 feet from a cliff in the Montserrat mountains near Barcelona on December 14, 2024, while hiking with his eldest son, Jonathan Andic.

At the time, authorities described the incident as a tragic accident. Jonathan told investigators that he was walking ahead of his father when he heard stones falling, turned around, and saw Isak plunge from an unfenced section of the trail. The area, known as Les Feixades, is a popular hiking path connecting the Salnitre caves to the Montserrat monastery.

However, recent developments suggest the case may not have been a simple accident. Reports from El País and El Periódico indicate that inconsistencies in Jonathan’s initial statements have prompted police to reclassify the investigation as a possible homicide case. His status has reportedly changed from witness to suspect, and investigators are now examining data from his phone for clues.

Despite the renewed scrutiny, the Mossos d’Esquadra (Catalonia police) maintain that the main theory still points to an accidental fall. They noted that no conclusive evidence has been found linking Jonathan to foul play. A police spokesperson confirmed that the case remains under judicial secrecy as the probe continues.

Representatives of the Andic family have called for patience and expressed confidence in Jonathan’s innocence. “The family will continue to cooperate fully with the authorities and is confident that Jonathan’s innocence will be proven,” they stated. Jonathan currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Mango Fashion Group.
