High Chief (Hon.) Ambassador Sobomabo Jackrich, the Paramount Head of Da Ike Group of Houses and Communities, has described Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo)’s ₦10 billion commitment as a historic and transformational gesture for peace and stability in the Niger Delta. He said the donation goes beyond its financial value — it represents a deep belief that true peace must come from within, through the people who understand the culture, terrain, and challenges of the region.
According to Soboma, Tompolo’s investment is not just in peace but in the future of communities that have long borne the burden of insecurity and neglect. “Every kobo invested in peace creates ripples of progress,” he noted, emphasizing that when local communities are strengthened, they become defenders of stability and engines of national growth.
He highlighted that Delta State plays a central role in the Niger Delta’s overall security framework. Therefore, Tompolo’s initiative will not only impact Delta but also bring stability to Bayelsa, Rivers, and Edo States, forming a stronger foundation for regional and national security. Soboma added that this gesture reflects the kind of leadership and foresight needed to rebuild trust and sustain long-term peace across the Niger Delta.
He further pointed out that Tompolo’s ₦10 billion commitment will boost local development, empower youths, and support socio-economic programs that can reduce tension and foster unity. By taking such a bold step, Tompolo has redefined what it means to give back — showing that peacebuilding is the most valuable form of investment a leader can make.
Soboma concluded that the initiative is a model for other leaders and organizations to emulate. He called on both public and private stakeholders to rally behind this vision and help nurture a self-sustaining peace architecture in the Niger Delta, where progress, opportunity, and stability thrive side by side.
