Manchester United Announce Record Revenue Despite Poor Form – European Football

Manchester United has announced record earnings of £666.5 million last year, even though their men’s team had a disappointing season on the pitch.

The club ended in 15th place in the Premier League, their lowest finish since they were relegated back in the 1973-74 season.

Much of the money came from the start of their five-year shirt sponsorship deal with Snapdragon, which helped United reach £333.3 million in commercial income. Their matchday revenue also hit a record £160.3 million for the year ending 30 June 2025.

Club chief executive Omar Berrada praised the results, saying: “To have achieved record revenues during such a tough year shows the resilience of Manchester United.” He added that the club is focused on improving in every area as they move through the 2025-26 season.

Even though United’s struggles on the pitch continue, Berrada said they are building “for the long term.”

Financially, the club’s overall loss dropped to £33 million, a big improvement compared to the £113.2 million loss last year.

United also confirmed they are following the rules of both the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules and UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.

Earlier this year, Deloitte ranked United as the fourth richest club in world football, with revenues of £651 million in the previous year. Real Madrid topped the list with £883 million, followed by Manchester City (£708m) and Paris Saint-Germain (£681m).
