FIFA has announced that there will be no international football break in October 2026.
This decision follows complaints from clubs about too many interruptions during the first half of the season.
To solve this, FIFA has changed the 2026–27 international match calendar.
The new plan is to extend the first international window, like the one recently used, so that there will be no need for another break in October.
The September window will now run from September 21 to October 6, giving national teams the chance to play four matches.
The November break will still remain, with two games scheduled between November 9 and 17.
These changes will also affect the Champions League, which will now begin earlier, between September 8 and 10.
