Governor Umar Bago of Niger State has said that political leadership will only return to the North after President Bola Tinubu completes his eight years in office.

The governor, speaking on a program aired on TVC, criticized those who are already calling for a northern president just two years into Tinubu’s term. He explained that such demands are too early and unfair.

Bago wondered why some people are in a hurry, asking: “How can you say power should return to the North when Tinubu has only spent two years? When he finishes his eight years, northerners who are interested can contest.”
