Former Leicester City player Danny Simpson has shared why he feels bad for Manchester United’s new striker, Benjamin Sesko.
The young forward could not do much as United were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
Phil Foden scored the opening goal in the first half before Erling Haaland added two more to seal the win for City.
Simpson explained that United are finding it hard to create goal chances in all areas of the field.
“I felt sorry for Sesko today. He is trying his best but there’s nothing more he can do,” Simpson said in an interview with Stadium Astro.
Even though United signed some quality players during the summer transfer window, their performance still looks similar to last season’s struggles.
So far this season, Ruben Amorim’s side has played four league matches. They managed just one win, lost two, and drew one.
This poor run has left Manchester United in 14th place on the Premier League table with only four points.
Simpson also blamed manager Ruben Amorim for leaving Kobbie Mainoo out of the starting lineup, saying, “It was crazy not to start him. When he came on, he brought some energy.”
The pressure is now on Amorim to fix things quickly at Old Trafford. United’s next test is a tough home game against Chelsea next Saturday.
