“I’ve had the name longer than him,” Lawyer Mark Zuckerberg sues Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg after his Facebook pages were disabled because of his name

A lawyer named Mark Zuckerberg is suing Facebook after the site repeatedly deleted his page, claiming he was impersonating the company’s CEO.

Mark Stephen Zuckerberg, a bankruptcy lawyer in Indiana, says he has spent thousands of dollars promoting his services on Facebook, only to have his page removed multiple times.

He explains that sharing a name with the famous billionaire has caused chaos in his life, including unwanted attention and ongoing tech issues.

He has reportedly received threats and nonstop calls from Facebook support.

“It’s not funny, especially when they take my money,” he told local news.

He insists he has had the name Mark Zuckerberg long before the Facebook founder became famous and is suing after years of unfair account removals.

He spent over $11,000 on Facebook advertising for his law firm, but both his business and personal accounts were repeatedly removed for “impersonating a celebrity.”

It often takes months to restore his accounts, leading to lost business, and he says Facebook broke fair dealing laws.

“I don’t want a fight, but I can’t make them stop,” he said. “I don’t know another way to get their attention.”

He has a website where he documents how sharing a name with a billionaire has affected his life, including legal mix-ups and social problems.

He has been sued by the state of Washington by mistake, receives hundreds of friend requests daily, and sometimes uses a fake name at restaurants to avoid being treated as a prank.

In one incident, a limo driver holding a sign with his name in Las Vegas was surrounded by fans expecting the Facebook CEO.

Mark Stephen Zuckerberg has practiced law for 38 years, decades longer than the Facebook founder has been alive.

Meta said, “We know there’s more than one Mark Zuckerberg in the world, and we are looking into this.”

The lawyer jokingly said he would accept an apology if the billionaire let him spend a week on his superyacht.

He is seeking damages and legal fees.
