How A Man K!lled His Own Younger Brother, Hid His Body Inside A Drum In Ondo

A shocking incident occurred in Kajola, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, where a man reportedly killed his 18-year-old brother over a financial disagreement.

The suspect, identified as Eze Elechi Amadi, was caught by the police while attempting to dispose of his brother’s body.

He was paraded alongside 99 other people suspected of criminal activities in Akure, the state capital, over the weekend.

According to the Ondo State Police Commissioner, Adebowale Lawal, the discovery happened on August 26, 2025, around 3 pm.

A resident, Oluwafemi Oladipupo of Paragon Street, Kajola, found a blue plastic drum tied with a black rope outside his house.

When he checked the drum, he discovered the lifeless body of 18-year-old Otu Ifeanyi, later identified as the suspect’s younger brother.

The drum had been placed on a motorcycle and was being transported by Eze Elechi Amadi when it fell off, leading to his immediate arrest.

During police questioning, Amadi allegedly admitted to killing his brother after accusing him of illegally transferring ₦20,000 from his Ecobank account.

The victim’s body was sent to the mortuary, and further investigation is ongoing. The suspect will face court charges once investigations are complete.

Police Commissioner Lawal also commented on the arrests of other suspected criminals across Ondo State’s 18 council areas. These suspects were allegedly involved in crimes including murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, drug possession, and theft.

Lawal highlighted that the arrests were possible due to both the efforts of the police and the cooperation of residents, who provided valuable information to help fight crime.

He added that the police have achieved significant progress in preventing and solving crimes in the state, reflecting both the hard work of officers and the support of the community.

In total, 100 suspects were arrested, and various items were recovered, including homemade guns, ammunition, stolen vehicles, motorcycles, fake vehicle documents, unauthorised number plates, and other stolen goods like phones, jewelry, and household items.

The police commissioner concluded by stressing that these results demonstrate the Ondo State Police Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

He also credited the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for his leadership in inspiring professionalism within the force.
