Ekiti Guber: ‘Wait for your time’ – Bode Ola tells APC aspirant

A leading figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bode Ola, has urged governorship hopeful Engr.

Kayode Ojo to be patient and allow Governor Biodun Oyebanji to complete his second term before pursuing his own political plans.

In a statement from Abuja on Saturday, Ola, who once represented Ekiti Central in the 6th National Assembly, expressed his full backing for Oyebanji’s bid for re-election in the July 20, 2026 governorship election.

Ola advised Ojo, seen as the main contender to the current governor, not to stir political tension in Ekiti State. Instead, he encouraged Ojo to focus on supporting ongoing development and urban renewal projects in the state.

While praising Ojo as intelligent, hardworking, and full of innovative ideas for Ekiti, Ola emphasized that “his time has not yet come.”

Ola highlighted Oyebanji’s achievements in sectors like agriculture, healthcare, education, and infrastructure, saying these successes have earned the people’s trust, who now want to see him build further on these accomplishments.

“As someone who has served as a senator and remains a key leader in Ado Ekiti and Ekiti Central, many have asked me about the political situation between Kayode Ojo and Governor Biodun Oyebanji,” Ola said.

He continued, “Kayode Ojo is calm, strategic, and very capable. He has strong plans for Ekiti, but everything has its proper time.

Just as Jesus said to His mother in John 2:4, ‘My time has not yet come,’ I feel Ojo’s moment is still ahead.”

Ola noted that the people of Ekiti recognize Oyebanji’s effective governance and want him to continue, warning that any thought otherwise would not reflect reality. He added that he has also advised some of Ojo’s supporters to avoid false hope.
