A major fire broke out on Friday evening at the Music House in Ibadan, Oyo State. The large business complex, owned by gospel singer Yinka Ayefele, went up in flames.

The Guardian reports that the building, which hosts Ayefele’s Merry Makers’ Band, Tiwantiwa Radio, Blast FM, and the popular Fresh FM, was thrown into confusion as the fire disrupted live broadcasts around 7:30 pm.

An eyewitness, Samuel Ibikunle, who first noticed the fire, quickly called for help.

“Fresh FM is burning! We need the Fire Service urgently. Please share and inform the nearest fire station,” he pleaded.

The head of Oyo State Fire Service, Rev. Akinyemi Akinyinka, later confirmed that firemen had already arrived and were working hard to control the blaze.

At the time of this report, the cause of the fire and the full extent of the damage were not yet known.
