Buhari: He was courageous, selfless, patriotic – Jonathan mourns

Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has shared his sorrow over the passing of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari. Jonathan called Buhari a brave and selfless leader who always put Nigeria first.

In a condolence message shared by his media adviser, Okechukwu Eze, on Sunday in Abuja, Jonathan praised Buhari’s character and leadership qualities.

He said that Buhari, who passed away in London at the age of 82, earned the respect of Nigerians from all walks of life because of his honesty and strong sense of discipline.

Jonathan mentioned that he was heartbroken by the news and saw Buhari’s death as a great loss to Nigeria.

He described Buhari as a significant figure who led Nigeria both as a military ruler and as a civilian president, always doing his best for the country.

Jonathan noted that Nigerians will remember Buhari as a disciplined officer, fearless leader, and dedicated servant of the people who worked for peace and national development.

He also highlighted Buhari’s honest lifestyle, integrity, and service to the country, saying people across Nigeria respected him for these traits.

According to Jonathan, Buhari was a selfless and patriotic leader who performed his duties with sincerity and strong character.

Jonathan added that with Buhari’s passing, Nigeria has lost an important figure, and he personally has lost a respected colleague and elder.

He said Buhari’s legacy would live on in the hearts of those who cherish integrity, service, and love for country.

On behalf of his family and the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation, Jonathan sent his deep condolences to Buhari’s family, the people of Katsina State, and all Nigerians who are grieving.

He also prayed that Allah would forgive Buhari’s mistakes, reward his good deeds, and grant him a place in paradise (Jannatul Firdaus).
