Barcelona footballer Lamine Yamal is in serious trouble after a disability rights group in Spain said they will sue him. The group is angry that he hired people with dwarfism to perform as entertainers at his birthday party.
Yamal recently turned 18 on July 13 and had a big celebration. According to reports, he hired individuals with dwarfism to entertain his guests at the party, which many people found offensive.
A Spanish news outlet, AS, reported that the group fighting for the rights of people with dwarfism – known as the Association of People with Achondroplasia and other Skeletal Dysplasias – is not happy about what happened.
The group released a statement saying they are strongly against using people with dwarfism for entertainment. They said it was wrong and that they will take both legal and public action against Yamal.
Yamal had a fantastic season with Barcelona last year. He played an important role in helping the team win both the La Liga and Copa del Rey trophies under their new manager, Hansi Flick.
For the upcoming season, the young Spanish star is expected to wear Barcelona’s famous number 10 shirt, which was once worn by Lionel Messi.
