Keyamo to launch Enugu Air July 7

Enugu State is getting ready to launch its own airline, Enugu Air, and the big event will happen on Monday, July 7, 2025. The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, will lead the official launch.

The ceremony will take place at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, according to a recent announcement from the airline.

Enugu Air will begin operations with three Embraer jets, models E170 and E190. These planes are known for their comfort, good performance, and are perfect for short-distance routes across Nigeria.

Speaking about the new airline, Dr. Obi Ozor, the Commissioner for Transportation in Enugu State, said the project is part of Governor Peter Mbah’s plan to make Enugu a top location for air travel in Nigeria.

He explained that the airline is based on modern and sustainable ideas. According to him, it will change how people travel in the region, increase pride among the people of Enugu, and help the state become more popular both in Nigeria and internationally.

For now, Enugu Air will fly to Abuja and Lagos, two major cities in Nigeria. The airline also plans to add flights to Port Harcourt, Owerri, Benin, Kano, and other important cities across the country in the near future.
