Ondo: Gov Aiyedatiwa approves death penalty for kidnapping

The government of Ondo State has decided that anyone caught and found guilty of kidnapping will now get the death penalty. This was announced by Kayode Ajulo, the state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice. He spoke for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa after a meeting on Saturday.

Ajulo said this decision is part of the state’s effort to make the community safer. Recently, Ondo State has seen many cases of kidnapping. Sadly, many victims have been killed, and their families had to pay large sums of money to kidnappers.

He also said kidnapping and cult groups have become big problems in the state. These crimes are causing fear and disturbing public peace. By making stronger laws, the government hopes to stop these crimes and improve security for everyone.

Ajulo added that the government will soon send new legal proposals to the Ondo State House of Assembly. These laws will include the death penalty for kidnappers and will help give legal support to fight these crimes.
