The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Makurdi has arrested Dr. Mkor Aondona. He is the Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Documentation, Research, and Planning. He is facing serious accusations of sexual blackmail and cyberbullying.
Dr. Aondona was taken into custody on Friday, June 20. This happened after several female students sent complaints to the EFCC about his behavior.
The students say he used his position to pick “slim and attractive” young women for ushering jobs. But instead of just hiring them, he demanded sexual favors as a condition for getting the job.
Many of the students believed they were applying for real and honest campus jobs. But later, they found out that Dr. Aondona secretly recorded videos of their sexual acts without their permission. He then threatened to share these videos if they refused to give him more favors.
One of the students told the investigators, “If you refuse, I will leak the videos.” This threat scared many of the victims.
The students also said that Dr. Aondona shared these private videos on different messaging apps. Some of the videos have already spread online, which has made the students worried about their safety and privacy.
The EFCC confirmed that Dr. Aondona will be charged in court once their investigation is complete. A spokesperson said, “We take sexual blackmail cases very seriously and will make sure justice is done.”
For now, Dr. Aondona remains in EFCC custody while waiting to be officially charged.
This case shows how important it is to speak up against abuse and protect the rights of young women.
