Fall of Iran’s leadership not a goal – Israel prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu

Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has said that Israel is not officially trying to make Iran’s leaders fall with its current military actions. However, he admitted that this could happen as a result of the campaign.

“The matter of changing the regime or the fall of this regime is first and foremost a matter for the Iranian people. There is no substitute for this,” Netanyahu said during an interview with Israel’s public broadcaster

He explained that bringing down Iran’s leadership is not a clear or formal goal for Israel. It might happen, but it is not something they aim for openly.

Netanyahu also stated that Israel has the power to destroy all of Iran’s nuclear sites, even if the United States does not take part in the operation.

He made these comments just before the U.S. was expected to decide whether to join the military mission. Experts believe that America’s help, especially with strong bunker-busting bombs, might be necessary to destroy the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant. This plant is located deep inside a mountain near the city of Qom and is well protected.

When asked if Israel could strike the Fordow site without help from the U.S., Netanyahu replied that Israel has the ability to remove all targets, including Iran’s nuclear facilities.

However, the decision to join the operation is up to the U.S. president. Netanyahu said the president will do what is best for America, while he will do what is best for Israel. So far, he said, everyone is doing their part.

In a separate statement, former U.S. President Donald Trump said that the U.S. alone has the ability to destroy the Fordow plant but added that he does not plan to do it.
