Osimhen to Liverpool: O’Rourke gives update with Nunez set to leave

Trusted British journalist Pete O’Rourke has shared a new update about the future of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. According to him, Liverpool may be interested in signing the Nigerian forward.

Several clubs in Europe are reportedly tracking Osimhen. O’Rourke mentioned that Liverpool is among the clubs keeping a close watch on him.

This news follows a failed transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal. Osimhen was expected to join them, but the move didn’t work out this summer.

Liverpool, who are the current Premier League champions, could turn to Osimhen if their striker Darwin Nunez leaves. O’Rourke said that Nunez’s exit looks more likely now.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast by Football Insider, O’Rourke pointed out that Osimhen is now in the final year of his contract with Napoli.

Turkish side Galatasaray also wants to sign the 26-year-old. However, Napoli might decide to sell him this summer instead of letting him leave for free at the end of his contract.

Even though Al-Hilal made several offers, Osimhen reportedly prefers to continue playing in Europe rather than move to Saudi Arabia.

With Nunez possibly on his way out of Liverpool, Osimhen could become a strong option for the club to consider as a replacement.
