The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, sent warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslims and everyone living in the FCT. He encouraged people to remember the values of sacrifice, true faith, and togetherness as they celebrate this important festival.
In a statement released on Friday, the Minister said this celebration holds great spiritual meaning. It reminds us of the lessons of obedience and devotion shown by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
He added that Eid-el-Kabir is not just a religious event but also a chance for everyone to renew their commitment to peace, tolerance, and respect for each other.
Wike praised the Muslim community in Abuja for their peaceful spirit and their efforts to help the city grow and develop through cooperation and understanding.
The Minister assured the people that the FCT Administration, following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, is dedicated to improving the lives of all residents.
He shared that soon, many completed projects will be officially opened across the FCT to mark the President’s two years in office. These projects will improve healthcare, education, farming, transportation, and more. They show the government’s real effort to make positive changes in the city.
Wike also wished the President good health and wisdom and asked residents to pray for him as he continues to lead Nigeria toward progress.
On the issue of security, the Minister reassured residents that Abuja remains one of the safest cities in the country. He explained that a recent explosion was caused by quarry work and was not a terrorist attack, calming any fears.
He said the authorities are investigating the incident and are strengthening safety measures to prevent future accidents. The government promises to keep people informed and manage safety concerns quickly.
Finally, Wike wished everyone a happy and peaceful Eid celebration. He prayed that Allah accepts their prayers and sacrifices and blesses the FCT and all of Nigeria.
