Osas Ighodaro Reveals How Her Mother’s Death Affected Her

Nigerian actress Osas Ighodaro recently spoke about how her mother’s passing still affects her deeply. It’s been nearly four years since she lost her mom, but the pain hasn’t completely gone away.

She opened up during an interview on Off The Top, a show hosted by VJ Adams. While talking about her journey, Osas shared some emotional thoughts about dealing with grief.

“I allow myself to feel what I’m feeling, then I move forward,” she said.

Osas explained that even though time has passed, the sadness still hits her out of nowhere. Some days are harder than others, and memories of her mom can bring back strong feelings.

Instead of pretending everything is okay, she said she has learned to accept her emotions. She believes that it’s better to feel the pain than to hide it.

To stay strong, Osas reminds herself that difficult moments won’t last forever. She believes there’s hope ahead, and that gives her the strength to keep moving forward.

What comforts her the most is the thought of seeing her mother again in the afterlife. She believes that one day, she’ll be able to share all her life stories and achievements with her mom.

Osas said, “I haven’t cried in a while; it has almost been four years since my mum passed away and the pain never goes away.

“From time to time the emotion takes over and it can come unawares and that’s what I’m not really keen on. You could just get into the mood, and it’s a lot but I’ve learnt to allow it to take its course, brush it off and keep it moving.

“One thing that has really helped me, and I usually say this when someone loses a parent, is that this situation is temporary. Live your life the best way you can that so when your time comes to transition, you have a lot to tell your family over there.

“So I’m trying to live my life so that when I meet my mum long from now, I’d have a lot to gist about.”
