African parents are dream k!llers – Billionaire businessman, Cosmas Maduka

Cosmas Maduka, a very successful billionaire businessman, has spoken out about how some African parents raise their children. He called them “dream killers,” meaning they stop their kids from chasing their dreams.

According to Maduka, many parents don’t support or encourage their children’s goals and ideas. Instead of helping them grow and succeed, they often bring them down. This lack of support makes it harder for young people to follow their dreams and become successful.

Maduka’s words remind us how important it is for parents to believe in their children and help them reach their full potential. When parents support their kids’ dreams, those children are more likely to work hard and achieve great things.

If African parents change how they raise their children by encouraging their dreams, many more young people could succeed and make their communities better.

While speaking on a podcast recently, Maduka said;

‘’We parents are dream k!llers, including me. I drove motorbike when I was 11 years. I have a child when he was 16 years he wanted to ride a bike and I said ‘you will not. you will kill yourself’.

Why do I think I had a better sense than him? My only son that drives a motorbike did that out of disobedience and today, I go out biking with him.

It is good to follow instruction but sometimes it is good to miss road. If you never miss the road, you will never discover a new road. We try to micromanage our children so much. You see that child that are born in average families where the parents have taken good care of him, always standing on the gap, not willing to take risk! That is about risk!”
