Former Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello has shared his thoughts on why two of the team’s stars, Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham, are not playing as well this season. He believes that the arrival of Kylian Mbappe has made things more difficult for them.
Mbappe became a Real Madrid player last summer. He left Paris Saint-Germain and joined the Spanish club as a free agent, meaning Madrid didn’t have to pay a transfer fee.
Since joining the team, Mbappe has been in great form. He has already scored 39 goals in different competitions this season, showing why he is considered one of the best forwards in the world.
In an interview with COPE, Capello explained that Real Madrid’s players no longer help each other on the field. He said that Vinicius and Bellingham now have to compete with Mbappe not only in terms of physical ability but also for space and roles in the team.
Capello also pointed out that with Mbappe joining, the team had to change its playing system. On top of that, Real Madrid has had to deal with many injuries in defense, which made the season even harder.
At the moment, Real Madrid is behind in the race for the LaLiga title. Barcelona is at the top of the table and looks likely to win the championship this season.
