Rivers crisis: ‘I know the solution, stop causing problems’ – Fubara to supporters

Suspended Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has spoken out about the ongoing political tension in the state. He said clearly that he knows how to handle his own problems and urged his supporters to stop doing things that make the situation worse.

Fubara gave this advice while warning his followers not to act in ways that could disturb the peace process. He believes some of their actions are adding to his troubles rather than solving them.

He made these comments during a service of song held in Port Harcourt to honor the late elder statesman, Edwin Clark, on Sunday.

Speaking at the event, Fubara told his supporters not to act based on their personal feelings but to follow his lead. He explained that since he is the one going through the challenges, he knows how best to manage them. He said some actions, although well-meaning, are hurting the peace process instead of helping it.

Earlier, Fubara had also mentioned that he no longer feels connected to his role as governor. He said he doesn’t really want to return to the position because “his spirit” is no longer in it.

The political crisis in Rivers State led President Bola Tinubu to suspend Fubara, his deputy, and the state House of Assembly members for six months. As part of the emergency steps, Tinubu also declared a state of emergency in the state and appointed a Sole Administrator to lead during the suspension period.

Fubara’s message is clear—he wants peace and knows the best way to handle his situation. But he needs his supporters to trust his process and not act in ways that could make things worse.
