Nigerian filmmaker Stanley Ajemba, popularly known as Stanley Ontop, has made a bold claim against gospel singer Mercy Chinwo. He said she was the one behind the recent arrest of internet personality VeryDarkMan.
In a post on Instagram on Sunday, Stanley reacted to online reports that blamed GTBank for the arrest. He disagreed with that claim and pointed fingers at Mercy Chinwo instead.
The movie producer alleged that Mercy Chinwo ordered the arrest. He also criticized some churches, saying they act like government agencies that use police, the EFCC, and the military to suppress people’s rights.
According to Stanley, “GTBank didn’t arrest VeryDarkMan. It happened at their branch, but the real reason was Mercy Chinwo. The church is becoming like a government force that uses law enforcement to scare citizens.”
According to DAILY POST, VeryDarkMan was taken into custody by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday, May 2. He had gone to a GTBank branch with his mother to report a problem with her account being debited without a clear reason.
