I hope Osimhen moves to EPL — Mikel Obi

Former Chelsea star John Obi Mikel has expressed his desire to see Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen join the English Premier League (EPL). Mikel shared his views on potential destinations for the prolific striker.

Responding to rumors that Manchester United might target Osimhen, Mikel dismissed the possibility if the club fails to qualify for European competitions. During a conversation on beIN SPORTS, Mikel stated, “If they don’t qualify for Europe, then he shouldn’t go to United.”

Mikel revealed that Osimhen has shown interest in playing for Chelsea. However, he couldn’t confirm if Stamford Bridge would be Osimhen’s next stop. “I hope he moves to the Premier League,” Mikel shared, adding, “We’ll have to wait and see.”

The former midfielder hinted that Chelsea’s previous negotiations with Osimhen could be revisited. He commented, “The groundwork was done last summer. It’s an easy fix if we pick it up again.”

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, has had a remarkable season in Turkey. He has scored 21 goals in 25 league matches and provided four assists, making him a sought-after player in Europe.
