Vice President Kashim Shettima is leading the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting currently taking place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
A surprising attendee at the meeting is Ibok-Ete Ibas, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State. His presence has caught attention as it’s not common for sole administrators to be part of this high-level economic gathering.
Also present is Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who recently switched from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Other governors at the meeting include:
- Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia of Benue
- Abdulrahman Abdulrazak of Kwara
- Monday Okpebholo of Edo
- Bassey Otu of Cross River
Some deputy governors are also in attendance.
The National Economic Council is an important meeting where leaders talk about how to improve Nigeria’s economy. The Vice President chairs this meeting.
