The Kano State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Hashimu Dungurawa, has stated that the party was unaware of Senator Sulaiman Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In an interview with Daily News 24 Hausa on Wednesday, Dungurawa clarified that the party had not received any official communication from the senator about leaving the NNPP.
This statement came shortly after Sumaila, who represents the Kano South Senatorial District, confirmed his defection to APC on his verified Facebook page earlier the same day. His post officially announced his move, ending months of speculation about his next political step.
