Former President Muhammadu Buhari has advised governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to focus more on serving the people. He said good leadership means putting the needs and welfare of citizens first. Buhari shared this message during a meeting with APC governors in Kaduna.
Speaking through his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, Buhari said he is happy with how the APC governors are doing. He asked them to keep working hard for Nigeria’s progress and to lead with honesty. He also mentioned that he left office in 2023 with the same belongings he had when he became president in 2015.
Buhari thanked President Bola Tinubu’s government for fixing up his house in Kaduna. He said while the outside looks the same, the inside has been nicely improved.
The meeting was led by Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, who also heads the Progressive Governors Forum. It was part of the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. Uzodinma praised Buhari for leading the party well and for handing over power peacefully.
He also mentioned some of Buhari’s achievements like better roads, support for the poor, and improved security. The governors thanked Buhari for his role in creating the APC and said they still respect and value his leadership.
