A group of Muslim protesters gathered along the Makurdi–Lafia Expressway following reports of the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Demonstrators were seen carrying photographs believed to be of the late Iranian leader as they expressed anger over the alleged U.S.–Israeli strikes.
The protest caused noticeable attention from motorists and passersby travelling through the area. While moving from Abuja, witnesses observed the crowd chanting and displaying banners, though capturing clear images proved difficult due to the movement and security concerns.
The demonstration reflects how international conflicts can spark reactions far beyond the Middle East. Emotions appeared high among participants who described the reported killing as a serious development in global affairs.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the protest. However, the situation remained peaceful as security agencies monitored activities to prevent any disruption along the busy highway.
