Peter Obi, who was the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has denied rumors that he plans to leave the party.
He cleared the air during the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja. Obi said he has not had any talks with anyone or any group about leaving the Labour Party.
He also said that if any decisions are to be made about the future of the party, they will be made together with party members and leaders.
This comes after Adewole Adebayo, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), claimed that several top politicians — including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi — were in talks to join SDP ahead of the 2027 election.
