Suspended Senator from Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has challenged Nigeria’s Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, to take her to court after she accused him of planning her assassination.
Natasha made this statement during an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television.
Earlier in the week, Natasha had accused Akpabio of working with the Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, to begin efforts to recall her from the Senate and also to plan her assassination.
According to her, Governor Ododo told Akpabio that killing her would be difficult because many people supported her. But Akpabio still insisted, Natasha said, and even asked former Governor Yahaya Bello to handle the situation.
She claimed Senator Asuquo drove Yahaya Bello to the Hilton Hotel for a meeting with Akpabio. During the meeting, Akpabio allegedly gave Bello money to carry out two tasks — to start the recall process and to kill her.
Natasha said, “I heard the Senate President wants to sue me for making these claims. I welcome it. Let him sue me. We will face each other in court.”
This bold statement has stirred reactions across the political scene, with many watching to see what happens next.
