Wisconsin Election: Trump accuses Democrats after voter ID gets approved

Wisconsin voters have approved a voter ID law, making it a part of the state constitution. This means that the requirement for voters to show identification at polling stations is now more permanent.

Former President Donald Trump reacted strongly to the decision. In a post on his Truth Social account, he accused Democrats of opposing the law because, in his words, they “want to cheat.” Trump celebrated the approval as a major victory for Republicans, saying it would help them win future elections in Wisconsin.

“Voter ID just got approved in Wisconsin,” Trump wrote. “Democrats fought hard against it, presumably so they can cheat. This is a big win for Republicans, maybe the biggest of the night. It should allow us to win Wisconsin for years to come!”

With this change, Wisconsin’s photo ID requirement for voting is now part of the state constitution, making it more difficult to reverse in the future.
