The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested two main suspects connected to the tragic killing of 16 travelers in Uromi, a town in Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Friday Ituah, announced this on Tuesday. He stated that the arrests were made based on reliable intelligence. Security agencies are still searching for other suspects involved in the attack.
According to Ituah, the arrested individuals have been taken to Abuja for further questioning and legal action.
Earlier, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo visited Kano State to offer condolences. During his visit, he confirmed that 14 other suspects had already been detained and would also be transferred to Abuja for investigation.
Governor Okpebholo reassured the victims’ families that justice would be served. He also promised that the government would provide adequate compensation to the affected families.
Authorities are working tirelessly to bring all those responsible to justice and ensure security in the region.
