Federation Cup: Boboye names strong squad for Akwa United vs Mighty Jets Feeders

Akwa United head coach, Kennedy Boboye, has picked a strong 20-man squad for their Federation Cup Round of 32 match against Mighty Jets Feeders.

The team includes young talents like Emmanuel Ini, Etiene Asuquo, Paschal Onunze, Tochukwu Samuel, Ibrahim Akande, and Osoba Kabir. Captain Jean Efala, along with Endurance Ebedebiri, Uche Sabastine, Seyi Oguntayo, Ubong Essien, and Edidiong Ezekiel, are also part of the squad.

The Promise Keepers are hoping to continue their impressive form, as they are unbeaten in their last six matches across all competitions. They will face Mighty Jets Feeders at the Kogi State University Mini Stadium, Anyigba, today (Wednesday).

Akwa United has won the Federation Cup twice in the last ten years. However, in the past three editions, they have failed to progress beyond the Round of 32. Last month, they defeated Kebbi United 2-1 to reach this stage of the competition.

Mighty Jets Feeders advanced to this round after a dramatic 5-4 penalty shootout win over Imperial FC, following a goalless draw in regulation time.

Fans are expecting an exciting match as both teams battle for a place in the next round.
